Čibuk 2 Wind Farm Inaugurated

Belgrade, September 14, 2026 – Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar, a global clean energy leader, and Finnish renewable energy investment manager Taaleri Energia have officially inaugurated the 154 megawatt Čibuk 2 wind farm.

Čibuk 2 is located in the South Banat region, around 40 kilometers from Belgrade, adjacent to the Čibuk 1 wind farm, which has an installed capacity of 158 MW. Together, the two wind farms have a total installed capacity of 312 MW, making them the largest wind power hub in Serbia and the Western Balkans. The complex can generate enough clean electricity to supply around 178,800 households.

The two projects represent more than €500 million in foreign direct investment in Serbia’s energy infrastructure. Čibuk 2 further contributes to Serbia’s energy security by providing domestically generated electricity at competitive prices and supports the country’s target of increasing the share of renewable energy in the electricity mix to 45 percent.

The inauguration ceremony in Belgrade was attended by Dubravka Đedović Handanović, Serbia’s Minister of Mining and Energy; Ahmed Almenhali, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Serbia; Elina Ollila, Deputy Ambassador of Finland to Serbia; as well as representatives of the leadership of Masdar and Taaleri Energia.
